About

Laughlin Children’s Center is a non-profit, privately funded organization that helps over 1,200 children from Allegheny and surrounding counties each year. The Center was founded in 1956 and serves children from preschool through high school. Our educational services include individual tutoring in language arts, math, and study skills, as well as small group programs and our NAEYC-accredited Village Preschool. We also offer speech-language therapy and child and family counseling, as well as an array of evaluations, screenings, and assessments.

Laughlin Children’s Center accepts most insurance plans. We help children obtain services regardless of their families' ability to pay by annually awarding financial aid in excess of $50,000.  To learn more about our services, rates, and financial aid program, contact us or call 412.741.4087.

Located in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Laughlin Children’s Center is just 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.

From I-79 North or South:
Exit at Sewickley/Emsworth Exit

Proceed North on Route 65/Ohio River Boulevard for approximately 3 miles. After you enter Sewickley, you will make a right turn at the intersection of Broad St. and Route 65. The Sewickley Bridge will be on your left, Sweetwater Center for the Arts will be on your right.

Proceed up Broad and make the first left onto Frederick Avenue. Laughlin Children’s Center is on your left. Parking is available on the street in front of the Center, or at the end of the street in our parking lot.
